This Pirate / Huguenot pistol is modeled after the Year XIII (13) pattern flintlock pistol. Known as the "pistolet à silex modèle an 13", probably the most representative pistol of the French 1st Empire.

Its design was approved in the year XIII (1805) but began to be produced from 1806, up to 1816 (or 1819 from some sources). It was used until around 1840 in France.

Over 300,000 pistols were made, mostly between 1806 and 1814 in Charleville, Maubeuge and St-Etienne.

This elegant  pistol  features a working flintlock mechanism and trigger, which means you can rotate the frizzen, cock the hammer, and even pull the trigger, releasing the flint to create the distinctive 'clink' of a typical flintlock pistol. This is a nicely finished replica for any pirate or Huguenot buccaneer, it features a distinctive skull and crossbones insignia on the hardwood handle. The barrel is finished in gunmetal grey.

Please note that this is a replica pistol and that in spite of any moving parts or working mechanisms, it cannot be converted into a working firearm.
