He was apprenticed to Samuel Blanckley in 1741 obtained his Freedom in 1750 and became aMaster in 1762. His works were uniformly good all through and he rose to the place of principle luxury gunmaker in England having his premises on Bond St. in London Other great men followed and were inspired by him, most notably notably John Twigg of Piccadilly,
This replica flintlock features an intricately carved faux-ivory handle, with a floral and geometric motif. The stock is siumlated-brass all metal alloy, and intricately detailed, with a short flared brass coloured barrel. This decorative little gem during it's time would have packed as deadly a punch in close quarters as a larger size counterpart.
This very affordable non-firing replica has all of the features of expensive originals, including moving parts. Rotate the frizzen, cock the hammer, and pull the trigger – the hammer falls just as it did more than 200 years ago with a satisfying click. Perfectly safe for a collection, costume, re-enactment or a history enthusiast. This replica cannot be modified or made to fire actual ammunition.
