This well appointed watch piece celebrates the first bicentennial of the ship U.S.S. Constitution  and features an engraving of the U.S.S. Constitution under full sail on the 2" diameter front cover. The vintage style analog watch face is marked with antique styled numerals, and quartz movement. 

The back cover is intricately detailed with fancy scroll work. A push button opens the watch, and it is powered by an included battery. The watch also features an included matching 31" chain. The watch case is steel alloy with a beautiful antique bronze finish.

The USS Constitution is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy, named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America. The boat is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat.  Launched in 1797, Constitution was one of six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third constructed. Joshua Humphreys designed the frigates to be the young Navy's capital ships, and so Constitution and her sisters were larger and more heavily armed and built than standard frigates of the period. 

The Constitution was built in the North End of Boston, Massachusetts, at Edmund Hartt's shipyard.  The ship was made famous in the War of 1812 following several engagements with the Royal Navy earning Constitution the nickname ‘Old Ironsides’.  In May 2015, the Constitution entered drydock for a three-year maintenance operation.
