2014 Ship To Shore Festival Richmond

Tall ships sail into Richmond, British Columbia for the 2014 Ship To Shore Festival in Steveston. For the 3rd year in a row, the Shady Isle Pirates and their mini-brigs, Adventure and Liberte and more than a dozen ships were on display in Steveston Habour this past weekend. Just some of the ships included the majestic HMCS Oriole, the Canadian Navy's sailing training vessel, historic schooners Adventuress and The Schooner Zodiac, ex us-navy patrol boat P-619, Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tours Native, Munin Viking Ship, Gaia and two of the Navy’s Orca patrol ships. Of course a big shout out to the crews of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, and Steveston Lifeboat.

Tall ship enthusiasts and festival goers relived the days when Richmond’s Steveston Village was a major port-of-call for fleets of sailing ships from around the world. The ships were docked at Imperial Landing and Britannia Shipyards, National Historic Site. Thanks to the captain and crew of the River Queen for ferrying people safely between the sites.
