1827 Pattern British Naval Officers Sword
This 1827 pattern sword reproduction is the same as those carried today by the Royal Navy, Canadian Navy, Royal Australian Navy and other Commonwealth navies. The blade shape of this sword is based upon the "Wilkinson Pattern" introduced in 1827.
The sword incorporates a unique mechanism that often proved a life-saver, the inner side of the guard is hinged so that it can be folded down to engage with a pin on the scabbard top mount. This locks the sword into the scabbard and also prevents wear on the dress uniform.
This reproduction also features an intricately engraved blade. The prominent six-pointed star on the ricasso was used as a proof pattern for Wilkinson swords. This sword features a simulated wire wrapped rayskin handle, with a fold down inner guard. It has a black wood scabbard.
